Empathic Communication
Our interactions are fully effective when we take into account our own perspective, and the views and ideas of other people. Often empathy by itself is the magic ingredient which allows situations to move forward, and fresh directions to emerge.
However, understanding how other people are affected — standing in someone else’s shoes — requires subtlety and emotional awareness. Perhaps surprisingly, empathy is not just innate. It can be taught and developed. These skills form the bedrock of all successful interactions, especially in challenging situations.
