Mindfulness at Work

Why Reduce Stress?

Given the cost of stress in the workplace, investing in Mindfulness approaches is cost-and-time effective. Stress is the second most commonly reported work-related illness; over half a million people in Great Britain claim that they are suffering from stress, depression or anxiety caused or made worse by their employment. In 2001-2, stress-related absenteeism in led to the loss of 13.4 million working days (over twice as much as in 1995). Work-related stress costs over £370 million a year and has a significant impact on staff and organisational performance.
